CURRICULUM VITAE

Nansy Anastopoulou was born and lives on Samos island.

She studied structural works at technical school. Nansy  is a founding member of the Community of Active Citizens of Samos and a member of the Unesco club of Piraeus and Islands.

Nancy started painting as an amateur in 1990. In 1993 she was awarded the 1st prize by the Association  of Greek Authors for her painting of the Kalavrita Holocaust –this piece is now part of the permanent collection of the Kalavrita museum. In 2008  the Association of Greek Authors awards her „Honoris Causa“ diploma in „reward of her excellent efforts and achievements“.

For additional training she studied under the professor of fine arts Paul Foropoulos, a painter with an international career.

She chooses her subjects from nature and the elements that surround her for the mood or the references these evoke. Nancy attributes mood by giving emphasis to colour and texture. She paints with oils and mixed media using materials such as sand fabric and wood.
